In 2019, Leon Thomas established Safe Transport LLC based in Greensboro, North Carolina. Leon’s Grandmother was wheelchair bound, and required frequent trips to and from various medical appointments. As her health declined, Thomas found it difficult for his family to handle his Grandmother’s transportation needs. They began to seek cab companies with the means to provide wheelchair transportation for clients with oxygen tank dependency. Unfortunately, their search was unsuccessful. It was in that state of distress that this NEMT business was born. Leon took on the responsibility of providing personal transportation care to his grandmother and other patients at the clinics in need of transportation service. What began as a dignified transportation solution for his Grandma’s aging condition has evolved into a full service transportation company for both non-medical emergencies and the common day-to-day transportation needs. Safe Transport LLC exists as a necessity, and to fill a much needed void in the area of transportation.
